Animat have been making music together since 2004, a partnership growing out of our work together as DJs in Sheffield’s Sundaze collective. We have produced 3 EPs - Sunshine or Rain, Arctic and Heart Shaped Balloons - and our first full-length album Earplay was released on Big Chill Recordings in August 2008.
NEWS UPDATE, MAY 2010:
We are currently adding the finishing touches to out latest film soundtrack project, The Last Man on Earth, starring Vincent Price which we will be performing live around the UK this summer and autumn (see our myspace page for gig listings). We have also completed remixes for Winter North Atlantic and The Beaufort Scale which will be available soon - watch this space for further information and news updates...
In other news, our latest EP A Promise of Snow has been garnering positive feedback and reviews from Ashley Beedle, Laurent Garnier and Chris Coco among others - quotes include "Lovely, lush, intelligent ambient music" (Bob Dukis, Six Degrees Records) -
"Beautiful soundscapes, great for dreamy daytime radio sets and long
afternoons at the beach" (Andy Wilson, Ibiza Sonica).
